Steps of OWD course

Enrollment

Please contact us and fill out an application form. If you have/had a certain health issue, or over the age of 45, we ask you a physician’s medical certification (in specific form) for safety matter.

STEP
Knowledge development

5 sections, 5-6hours

We give you a textbook and video material and tell you how to prepare before classroom session. In the classroom at the shop, you can ask the instructor questions and confirm the knowledge you have learned. Instructor also gives you some tips & advices. It will take about 1hour/section. In the end, you have a simple exam you need to pass. You can do all in one day or divide it for several days.
If you choose PADI eLearning®️, you can learn all 5 sections and take the final exam by yourself at home.

STEP
Confined water (pool) training

A day, 5-6hours

In this session, you will learn the basic skills of diving in the pool. The pool which has both shallow and 5m deep area is located in Takahagi, Ibaraki.

We meet up at the site, or we can provide a ride from our shop with an additional charge.

The session will take about 6hr. If you need to take an additional lesson, an extra-fee (¥10,800/day) will be charged

STEP
Open water (oceanic) training

2dives/day x 2days

After finishing the class and pool lessons, here comes the real thing! This is the practical lesson in the sea applying what you have learned. You will make 2dives/day for 2days, 4dives total. You can choose two one-day trips or an overnight trip to participate.

Getting certification card

Congratulations! After completing all course requirements, you become a certified diver. Once you are certified, you can:

  • dive with your partner without supervision in the same or milder condition you have ever dove.
  • rent or purchase scuba diving gear.
  • take courses to advance your skills and expand fun experience.

◆Take advanced open water diver course
Learn about underwater navigation, deep diving, and three different type of diving. This expand the area you can explore, and you will find more fun to dive!
